Independent Technology Advisory
Better technology starts
with better decisions.
Independent technology leadership for RIAs at every stage of growth.
Stack Strategy helps firms make better technology decisions, build a technology strategy around the needs of the business, and bring experienced leadership to increasingly complex technology environments.
You've built a sophisticated business.
Your technology leadership should match it.
Technology decisions that were straightforward when your firm was smaller become increasingly consequential as you grow.
More systems. More integrations. More data. More vendors. Greater cybersecurity expectations. New opportunities with AI. And more dependencies between technology and how your people actually work.
Yet responsibility for technology is often spread across operations, compliance, IT providers, vendors and individual business leaders.
Everyone owns part of the technology environment. Who owns the whole?
Stack Strategy brings an executive perspective across it.

Independent
by design.
Technology vendors are an important part of your ecosystem. They shouldn't be the ones defining your technology strategy.
Stack Strategy does not resell software, operate as an MSP or accept referral compensation for platform recommendations.
Our job is to represent your firm's interests.
When implementation or specialized expertise is required, we can work alongside your existing teams and vendors or help identify the right resources to execute.

Founder perspective
Built from the operator's side of the table.
Trevor Hicks, Founder
Before Stack Strategy, Trevor spent more than a decade leading technology inside a wealth management firm as it grew from approximately $4 billion to more than $16 billion in assets.
As CTO, he led technology through growth, organizational change and merger integration while overseeing major initiatives across portfolio technology, CRM, cybersecurity, data, client technology and emerging AI capabilities.
That experience shapes Stack's approach: technology strategy isn't about accumulating more tools. It's about understanding the business, making good decisions and building an environment capable of supporting what comes next.
